1. Identify your stressors.

When you pinpoint the source of your stress, you can develop effective strategies to manage it. Create a list of the situations/events, challenges or concerns that trigger stress for you. The next thing to do is determine whether your stress is caused by a situation, event or person.

Stressors can also be categorized as external or internal events. To make sure you identify the true source of your stress, take a closer look at your habits and routines. For instance, external stressors like deadlines might not really be the real source of your stress; the culprit could be your procrastination habit. When you identify the true source, you enable yourself to be more in control of the situation.
